Meet the Therapist

Margie Schaeffer,
M.Ed., LMT, CST

Margie began her massage career in 1990 after graduating from the Baltimore School of Massage. In 1992 she was nationally certified with the NCBTMB and in 1999 became approved as a NCBTMB continuing education provider where she instructs a 150 hour Intui-Medical Massage Certification. Certified in CranioSacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute as well as Reiki, Margie has studied lymphatic drainage and zero balancing extensively since 1987.  She recently discontinued instruction of an accredited massage school to maintain a private practice and further develop the NCBTMB continuing education instruction that integrates her background in competitive artistic sports, palliative care experiences of helping her son Keith, through diabetes & leukemia treatments, and parents through Parkinson’s & Alzheimer’s.

Margie's latest development is Lymph Muscle Massage.  It is a non-intrusive technique effective for palliative care conditions of cancer, diabetes, fibromyalgia, Parkinson's,  ALS,  lupus, and many other chronic conditions.  It also compliments robust techniques such as deep tissue, myofascial, sports and PNF by allowing  gentle muscle releases for a client therapist friendly treatment.
